Loitering with no intent

I have been around the blogs of others and have not posted on my own of late because there is nothing to tell.

I haven't been out much, haven't heard much, haven't seen many people, if I had a nuclear bunker I'd be in there eating chocolate and not much else.

I've been playing with paint and toying with ideas on paper but not anything too dramatic.

I am bothered and I am not bothered in the same breath.

I am neither here nor there.

I am the blur that passes as you hurry on to your jobs, your Christmas shopping, your homes and your favourite TV show.

I am just being.

6 & 7

That's all folks!

Everything is in frames which makes them appear quite different and all labeled up at the hospital!

These photographs look much better in reality in frames too.

Where are the pictures?

I will post pictures of my pictures in due course but first Stephanie wants to find them on the walls. So since she doesn't want to know what she's looking for we'll hold off posting them for a bit.

Once she's found them I'll post pictures of my pictures...

In other news I went for a swim for the first time in about 18 months and you know what I can swim! I managed 20 lengths of the 25m pool, 18 were Breaststroke and 2 were Freestyle. I wasn't particulary quick and I did stop to rest after every 2 lengths but did finish strongly completing the final 6 non-stop. I'm pretty sure it was easier doing crawl/freestyle now post surgery. In the nature of the surrealism that is my life there was a little person at the pool. I'm not sure what the politically correct term is but its still kinda disconcerting to see a 'dwarf'/'midget'/'little person' at the swimming pool, it makes me think of that scene in "Living in Oblivion' (1995) where a dwarf argues with Steve Buscemi about how its an Independent filmmaking cliche to have a dwarf in a dream sequence.

On the Walls

Well, seven out of the eight pieces that I submitted to the hospital's Patient and Staff Exhibition are now on the walls. It seems strange seeing them up on the walls next to the work of other people. After all I'd only seen them in their isolation in the sphere of my little world. At the moment none of the work has name tags or the title of the pieces attached nor the prices so identifying my work is difficult for the casual viewer. I think in due course the hospital does supply all this information anyway its only been up two days so far! It'll all be there until the end of January...

The first day of November hasn't even passed and that damn job I had hoped for doesn't look like it will pan out in my favour. Although truth be told its been a huge weight off my shoulders and lightened my mood somewhat to at least know that. Ideally, I would have been given a start date and been getting my kit ready but it ain't going to happen this year now.

On the plus though I got given the all clear in one part of the medical catalogue that has taken up my life in one way or the other for the past year and a bit.

Maybe my mood is turning because my football team is finally starting to play entertaining football and winning games at long last. I don't know how much a 25 year old can achieve but I have decided to read Steven Gerrard's Autobiography which is actually pretty entertaining.
