'We'll keep your details on file'

'We'll keep your details on file.'

In other words "We're not interested in you.'

But what really pisses me off is that I had to phone them to find this out.

Can't they show some good manners and a little class by at least letting me know either on the phone or for the truly faint hearted by email.

OK, worse for them, it means to you simply that this was not the job that is waiting for you out there, go straight away for the next target: it could be that one. You never know where you'll get the fish, but make sure you go for it. Move on.

obviously that just means that they would have super sucked to work for. after a time of temping at a job, i was let go. then rehired. in the same day. that should have been a red light right there. i totally quit that job a month later. suckers.

Sorry to hear :(

Don't stop trying though! What sucks is that you never know just how close you may have been, and today's practice (and really, it's not just you, unfortunately) the ones doing the hiring not bothering to send polite thank yous might burn bridges with someone they really want later.

Hope a good match comes along for you soon.

When they do not contact you, the pleasure should be yours for not working with such rude, inconsiderate people.

Oh god, I know how that feels! I had an interview with Getty Images, and even followed it up with a letter. Did I hear anything back from them? Nothing, not a thing. And the woman never returned my call.
