Attempts

I have been using my time to try and create artwork of varying quality and style for an open exhibition. I feel some look decidely amateurish whilst others point to other possibilities.

There is deadline for submission and so i paint and wait for paint to dry and then paint again.

In between which I managed to attend a seminar about computer design products and catch up with some faces from the past.

And got asked by a pretty, heavily pregnant friend 'If I had a girlfriend' and when I replied in the ngative, she seemed confused by my answer telling that there are so many single girls in London.

I guess what i'm saying in my convoluted way is that its kind of flattering that a pretty woman wonders why you are single, if that makes any sort of sense.

Right off to stick my head back up my own A**hole as I go back into 'artist' mode! ;)

You are too hard on yourself. Those paitings are going to be awesome and I'll be showing them off to all of my colleagues when they go on display. You are going to make LOADSA MONEY!

It is nice when people think it's odd when you are single. When my friend D said that once I wanted to give him a big hug. Sadly, the rest of the evening proved exactly why I was single - I spent the night fending off any and all advances. I take it to mean that I'm just picky. :)

I think the more you paint, the best chance you get something really great, right? I'm not very artistic so I wouldn't know.

From what I gather your friend is right: a single man in London is a rare species and every single woman is a hungry hunter lol! I think you should take it as a compliment but only you know why you're single (or maybe you should, but that's something else). Let them guess.

Hey, it was good spending the day with you today! Sorry, if I oscillate from being boring to being hyper! I had a wicked time!

My theory is, when you get to be our age (as I've just joined you today, in fact) people assume that if you're cool like us than you MUST be off the market.

I know I think that of most men I meet...oh, he's cool...must be taken.

PS - will those of us who are not there, get to see what you're working on somehow? I know it won't be the same as in person, but still...

I've sent my application form off.

So hopefully they'll accept everything and then I'll post pictures of my pictures.

It's only an open exhition in the cofffee shop/lobby area of the hospital.

But it has been a good way to immerse myself and to try out a few things in the last two weeks or so.

I hope I haven't built it all up to disappoint you all...

yeah I was going to say, can we see some of it? I loved the cat drawing.

And re the single thing - I know what you mean. I get flattered when people are surprised I'm single - though what bloody use it is too me, I don't know. But I am as guilty as Stephanie of assuming attractive men are taken... but actually, they usually are! I'm not sure there is an easy solution. Why ARE we all single?
