Live it!
I need to do more instead of reading or watching others' exploits in the things I'd like to do.
Instead of trying to live and breathe and experience things I merely observe and live vicariously.
Just what is holding me back why can't I be all that I can be (the Marines would never have me).
What am i afraid of?
Rejection? Failure?
All the slogans I need to take note...'Just do it', 'Live life to the Max', 'Be all that you can be'.
I have become a shrinking violet, a human hermit crab...

living is not just a decision you make. just do something tomorrow. and then, one more thing the day after tomorrow.
really Finn, it's the only way. start tomorrow with a little thing.
oh this is a little exercise, the 85% exercise. I had done it with another blogfriend once and it worked. Promise yourself you'll do things and live instead of just observing, for 85% of the time. And then, for 15% you can just watch. Do it for ten days and then take it from there.
I think Chloe's advice is wonderful. And I also think that the fact that you realize this and admit it and don't like it are all three steps in the right direction. I'll be back to hear what you did. Or maybe we could all give you ideas and then you could pick!...
Yes, Chloe took the words out of my..fingers. Maybe you could try slowly, one thing at the time and do something that you really enjoy, something you know you'll like. Don't force yourself to do things you don't want to, there's no point. Good luck!
so, what kinds of things do you want to do that you enjoy? :)
all about biting the bullet and not procrastinating - go out on a limb with something that you think may be rash. (how many more cliches could we find?!).
Good luck with it. I'm rubbish at it!
You've already cleared the first hurdle -- recognizing these things and realizing you want to do things differently. Now's the easy part -- just push yourself!

Even hermit crabs step outside of their shell for a little bit, don't they?
