I should really use gouache on board instead of acrylics on sketchbook paper to avoid all the brushstokes and warping of the paper!

oh, fb; don't be so hard on yourself; it is good, really good.

Why do you appear angry, or rather frustrated?...

I posted a comment here yesterday and it's gone! I think I was saying that it was a very nice work and I was asking if that was a machine inside the heart - it looks like a small alien spaceship ;)

Hello, thank you.

K
Thank you very much, I had meant to just do a B&W inkwash but added the red inspired by a comic book cover.

Thank you I'm still not entirely sure if I wanted flat clour or not.

Chloe
Thank you very much.

Stephanie
Thank you, I have lots of sketches but not lots of things that look finished like this.

It's my exaggerated idea of an artifical valve based on a watch type mechanism ( completely non sensical! Valve is actually much simpler in reality)

Its strange I don't seem to be able to paint on watercolour paper or boards because when I have them I have no ideas! It sounds funny but I guess I'm just trying things out for the moment...

I agree with everyone else on the brushstrokes. Nobody minded them on a van Gogh!

I like the brushstrokes. It gives it texture. Also, it's often when people are using what's at hand or trying something new (instead of whatever they "should" be doing) that things come out unexpectedly awesome.
