Red Shoes

Another one from last year...my sketchbook is full of different things. I think I am in my awkward phase as I try to discover what my style is. This is done in marker pen and based on a pose of a model from a Sunday newspaper supplement and the framing is influenced by Rene Gruau.

I have been listening almost non-stop to Israel Kamakawiwo'ole's album 'Alone in IZ World'...if you don't know his music look him up and see what you think.

I continue to chase down an appointment at the hospital and have now progressed to beind assured by email that all is in hand...hmmm

Liverpool continue to struggle to score goals.

That's all, no great insights or flurries of mad activity from this side of the mountain to report.

No snow but it has got cold again.

I like the blog with photos and illustrations. You'll figure it out :) I haven't heard anything but the one rainbow song.

your style is dark and innocent at the same time, that's all i see because i am not an expert, but i like it very much. and i like your colours.
At the moment we are watching Chelsea vs Barcelona.

Sort of reminds me of the little girl in the red dress from Shindler's List.

Not the best compliment, I know, but it evokes that same sort of feeling, of playfullness in the realm of darkness. Sort of what Chloe was saying, actually.

It's really cold here too, believe it or not. That's a really nice picture and let me say that the shirt she is wearing is very fashionable this season ;)
I'll check up that strange name guy ;)
I hope you're not worrying too much and especially not about Liverpool - they'll make it!

Your art is clean, crisp. I really enjoy looking at it and love things drawn and coloured in marker.

Keep pressing the hospital. I worry for people's health; mother in me again (and you're up alte again, mate :)

I watched Team Canada get slammed by Russia in hockey. Too bad...

Weather here; cold-warm-cold-warm...snows-melts-snows-melts.
same same same...

Those are my shoes!! Ok, mine are flat, but same colour and shape. Wish those were my legs, but alas I have peasant legs. Enough about me. Great drawing. I look forward to seeing more of your stuff on the blog.

Good luck with the hospital appointment. They are good people at the Brompton so I am sure they'll get back to you soon.

Take care!

PS No snow? We had a bit this morning. :)

Expressionism? if not your style it is a defined phase in your drawing's production. I like it as well because you don't overwhealm anyone with color profussion/provocations, which sometimes is appreciated, but I am positive you'll widen you palette at a given point.

Good legs!

And then there was snow! Well sleet. Or slushy rain. O just white stuff that didn't stay around. But it was there, this morning. Hurray!

So yes, we've about a month to meet up for a coffee and say *Hello!*

Drop me an email and let me know when you're free...
