Not Good

It seems as if the PC I work from is on its last legs or a component is. I can be typing away or surfing the net and everything freezes, crashes or restarts so I'm never sure how long I'll be online at a time...

Calls will have to be made and assessments and decisions will have to be made over what to do about all this...with somebody who knows about these things.

I wonder if there's a best before date stamped inside the computer somewhere...

its amazing how computers suddenly go kaput. I have a really old one (well from 1997 but im told in computer terms its ancient) and I can understand its not as good as new computers but i cant understand why it doesnt work as well as when i had it if all the internal peices still work.

I hate that :/ Our lives depend on our computer and yet they are so fragile, you never know when they'll explode and dissapear with all the data you had there. I also hate making decisions about things like these...Good luck, I hope the computer gets better!

Finn, when they slow down, sometimes it's because the pc has spyware and adware. try running Spybot (Search and Destroy). Download it here

I haven't worked with a PC for a long time and so I don't really know much about virus and stuff as you don't get them on macs.

I hope it gets sorted! We'll miss you!

I wish I had some useful advice but I am a technology idiot. But I can cross my fingers for you. That I can do.

You need to change your pc, I allways follow the rule "renovating or dying". Why don't you ask for donations in this blog? it is common practice on the blogosphere already. I will be pleased to colaborate in the fundraising by spreading the new myself in case you decide to go for it.

Back up everything while it still works!!! My last laptop had virus-like symptoms but it turned out to be the hard drive instead. When it gasped it's last breath there was absolutely no way to salvage anything. Good luck!
