Vigilantes/heroes/do-gooders

Is there room in modern life for a superhero? Could a Batman type figure truly survive in today's world? Why has no SAS trained man become a crime fighter? Or would he require corporate sponsorship? Would he run foul of speed cameras, speed bumps? Would criminals surface in costume too (they exist to be caught?)? Would it be all about the fame for a modern vigilante/crimefighter?

Is Robin Hood one of the earliest costumed heroes or a criminal? Is Zorro hero or criminal? Is Jesus the earliest literary superhero?

The '60s Batmobile had a licence plate. Imagine Batman & Robin waiting in line at the DMV. "Modern Life is Rubbish"

To answer a few:

Any SAS guy is probably too jaded to be a superhero.

I doubt any sponsors would go for a guy who beats up people for a living.

Whether Robin Hood and Zorro are criminals or heroes depends upon whether your rich or not.

I'm going to say something totally corny now, that i believe 100% by the way, but it's okay, it's between you and me. In my eyes, someone at work who speaks up for someone else who was wronged, is a superhero. Or, somebody who forgives, even when nobody has said "forgive me, I'm sorry" is a superhero. I've got many superhero examples. Told you it would be corny Finn!
xxx (i'm in a corny mood today)

Superheroes are all around you, if only you know where to look.

Unfortunately, it is often much easier to spot the bad guys.

I tried to save people within the world, to no avail. My Super Man complex has done no good. We are going to need an ACTUAL superhero to help out... :P

Fathers For Justice tried to be modern superheros if you recall. I'm with Chloe, however, and the real heros are people in every day life who stand up for the underdog in little ways.

Batman or Superman on Tonight with Jonathan Ross!? Spiderman on kids TV? Wonder Woman guest presenting This Morning?

Would they have agents?

The true hero does not seek attention nor need credit for his or her actions to be acknowledged because they themselves know they have done the right thing.
